  Second Grade

In Second Grade we continue building on our music reading and writing skills from First Grade by adding new notes and rhythms, as well as learning to perform using various musical expressions.

Here are some of the elements we get to work on this year.

  •     New Notes: do and re (we can read, write, and perform these!)

  •     New Rhythm: half note

  •     4 meter (ask me about barlines, measures, and conducting!)

  •     First and Second Endings

  •     Musical Expressions: tempo (fast/slow), dynamics (piano, forte, crescendo,

             and decrescendo)

  •     Musical Forms: AB, ABA, ABAC

  •     Instruments: Clarinet, trombone, string bass

Without music, life would be a mistake.
